Utilities
The majority of area businesses are served by the two Board of Public Works of Holland and Zeeland, which were rated as the second and third lowest cost electric services in Michigan for large industrial users (June 30, 2004 survey conducted by the Lansing Michigan Board of Water and Light). The Holland Water Filtration Plant, with its intake from Lakes Michigan, serves the Holland-Zeeland region with area governments buying treated water wholesale and distributing it to their constituents.
