HOLLAND TOWNSHIP — The state's economy has been taking some hard hits over the last few year, but word is that around 900 jobs could be coming to West Michigan.
The state is about to ok some tax incentives aimed at bringing new jobs to the area.
Request Food Incorporated, a frozen food processor and packer, Lean Logisitcs, a transportation and delivery company and Genzink Steel Supply and Welding all on the agenda for the mega board meeting in Lansing tomorrow.
Randy Thelen of Lakeshore Advantage can't speak to the specifics but says if the tax breaks are granted, it's good news for the lakeshore. "We're talking about projects that are going to have roughly $40 million of new payroll to the area. That means more paycheck, more dollars going into local restaurants, grocery stores, you name it," said Thelen..
Economists say for each of these jobs added three jobs will be created in other sectors.
None of the companies could discuss their plans as of Monday night due to contractual constraints with the state. Other sources Tell FOX 17 if approved the three businesses will add up to one thousand direct hires.
Two Kent County companies are also on the agenda for the mega meeting, Precision Aerospace and Wolverine World Wide.
