ITB PACKAGING EXPANDING IN HOLLAND
ITB Packaging announced a $3.5M dollar expansion creating at least 65 jobs

9/18/2019 // HOLLAND, MICH – ITB Packaging LLC announced a major growth project in Holland representing $3.5M in private investment expected to create at least 65 jobs over three years. Lakeshore Advantage, the local economic development organization that assists employers with growth opportunities in Ottawa and Allegan counties, worked with the company and connected them with local and state resources to support their expansions.

"ITB is very pleased to have worked with Lakeshore Advantage and other partners to continue our expansion plans and growth strategy. When faced with the choice of where to expand, the decision was quite easy given the vibrant and innovative manufacturing epicenter in Holland,” said Jeff Tischleder, Chief Executive Officer of ITB Packaging LLC. “We look forward to our continued investments into talent, facilities, and capital equipment resources here in West Michigan. At ITB Packaging, our valued employees are our greatest resource. To that extent, we are very excited to announce the addition of 17 full time employees into the ITB family.”

ITB Packaging LLC, an established design and manufacturer of proprietary packaging divider systems, is investing $3.5M. The expansion includes the purchase of custom equipment that will lead to the creation of approximately 65 jobs over three years.

“ITB is an innovator in packaging and other applications for their products. Their growth in Holland shows their support for the community and their employees,” said Jennifer Owens, President of Lakeshore Advantage.

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation provided support to this project through a Michigan Business Development Program grant from the Michigan Strategic Fund valued at $325,000.

“ITB Packaging’s decision to expand in Holland means good jobs for Michigan residents and underscores the strength of the state’s manufacturing talent,” said Jeff Mason, CEO of MEDC, the state’s chief marketing and business attraction arm that administers programs and performs due diligence on behalf of the MSF.

“We’re pleased to work with our local partners and support this investment, and we look forward to working with the company as it continues to grow and add jobs in Michigan,” Mason said.

West Michigan Works! is supporting the project with more than $546,000 in staff time, incumbent worker training grants and on the job training.

“With ITB Packaging’s focus on growth and innovation, we are pleased to partner with Lakeshore Advantage and Grand Rapids Community College to provide this customized Workforce Hiring and Training Plan that will help meet ITB Packaging’s goals,” said Jacob Maas, Chief Executive Officer of West Michigan Works!. “ITB Packaging is a valuable asset to the West Michigan community and we champion their expansion.”
