1/30/19 // ZEELAND, MICH –Kaidi LLC, global manufacturer and designer of linear actuator systems, is establishing its first United States manufacturing facility in Holland, Michigan. The company will create 95 new jobs and invest over $2 million in leasing space, new machinery and equipment over three years.
“Kaidi is excited to add Holland as a manufacturing location to service current and new customers in the medical, home goods, cinema and furniture industries,” says Sean McCarthy, Director at Kaidi, LLC.  “We would also like to thank Lakeshore Advantage, MEDC and other local agencies for helping to make Holland a great place to build upon.”
Kaidi LLC’s parent company in China, Changzhou Kaidi Electrical Co. Ltd., has over 2,000 global employees and $45 million in annual revenue. The company has existing warehouse space in Mississippi, and wants to establish a design and manufacturing footprint in the U.S.
Lakeshore Advantage has been working with the company on site location and establishing local project commitment for this expansion.  “Kaidi’s decision to locate their design and manufacturing facility here shows this region is a top international choice for advanced manufacturing investment,” said Jennifer Owens, President of Lakeshore Advantage. “We look forward to working with Kaidi as they begin production.”
As part of the local commitment, the West Coast Chamber offered a complimentary annual membership. “Chamber engagement is priceless,” said Jane Clark, President of the Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce. “We are happy to support Kaidi’s expansion with membership to help new employees get acclimated to our business community.”
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is offering a performance based grant of up to $450,000 to the company to support their Michigan manufacturing location.
“When an international company like Kaidi chooses Michigan over other states for its expansion, that is a statement about our state’s business attractiveness, talented workforce, and leadership in advanced manufacturing,” said Jeff Mason, CEO of MEDC, the state’s chief marketing and business attraction arm that administers programs and performs due diligence on behalf of the Michigan Strategic Fund. “This project will provide good employment opportunities for Michigan residents and will create a long-term positive impact on the local economy, and we thank Kaidi for choosing to invest in Michigan.”
The company has lease space in the City of Holland. “The City of Holland welcomes this international company, Kaidi LLC, with open arms,” says Keith Van Beek, Holland City Manager. “Kaidi’s work in mechanical-electrical integration brings growth in both innovation and technical jobs and we are excited they chose our community for their sizable investment.”
