THREE STATEWIDE GRANT PROGRAMS TO PROVIDE MILLIONS
IN GRANTS FOR COVID-19 RELIEF EFFORTS

 
 


The Michigan Strategic Fund today approved two grant programs – the Michigan Small Business Survival Grants and the Michigan Stages Survival Grants – totaling $58.5 million in relief to help meet the urgent needs of small businesses and live event venues impacted by the COVID-19 virus, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation announced.


Michigan Small Business Survival Grants
  • $55 million is available statewide for grants to meet the urgent need of Michigan small businesses that have experienced a significant financial hardship due to the recent COVID-19 emergency “gatherings and face mask orders.” 
  • Grants of up to $20,000 will be awarded to businesses that are fully closed, with grants of up to $15,000 awarded to businesses that have been partially closed, or otherwise are open and can demonstrate an impact.
  • Lakeshore Advantage will be administering this program in Allegan and Ottawa Counties, with $1.925 million available in the two-county region. ​​

  • Application goes LIVE on Tuesday, January 19 @ 9am and is open through Friday, January 22 @ noon.

Michigan Stages Survival Grant Program:
  • $3.5 million is available to provide up to $40,000 in one-time grants to eligible Michigan live music and entertainment venues that have experienced a significant financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Employee Assistance Grant Program:

A third grant program, the Employee Assistance Grant Program, is designed to help those whose employment at entertainment venues, recreational venues and restaurants has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic by putting dollars in the pockets of Michiganders who work in hospitality, entertainment, recreation, accommodation and food services sectors, as well as the gym and fitness sectors. 
·  Eligible individuals can apply for one-time grants of up to $1,650. 
·  Applications will be processed through February. Payments will be issued in March.
